...to my good friend Lee Moody at the World Wheelie event at Elvington this weekend. Lee has the 750cc crown at 156mph on the back wheel, he's on a Gixer1000 this year. Today he managed a respectable 141mph on the back wheel over the kilometre. I went 2 years ago to watch, there was ghostrider there (he blew his bike up but holds the record at 214mph on the back wheel) and the Straightliners wizzing past at 250mph - awsome to watch.

Looks like his best run of the wekend was the 141mph one...still impressive as keeping a bike on the back wheel for a kilometre is no easy feat, especially at those speeds. Persoanlly, I may be able to wheelie the distance but not at those speeds, mine are around the 100mph mark in 2nd gear but when I hook third it's different as the air pushes the bike further backwards so takes a lot more skill to balance. Well done Lee, you did well mate. Note fastest time of weekend is 173mph...balls of tungsten a prerequisite to all entrants.

The thing is W, I can't wheelie a pushbike for toffee - and I have been practicing ever since. Just can't do it - not proper decent ones anyway. Yet if it's got an engine, then I'll put it on the back wheel. Go figure...?
