It's that time of year again...
First time at Estoril, a little disappointed with the track and facilities seeing as it's on the MotoGP calendar. Anyway, first day was getting used to which way it went:-
Check out the rear wheel chatterering skid mark in the 'Oh shit shit shit...I've out braked myself trying to outbrake the rider infront moment...."
The second day was much the same as the first. This was the last corner, taken at approx 110mph in 4th, and feed it on nicely for the start / finish straight which I was just getting into 6th gear for about 7 to 8 seconds before braking for the first corner, so about 165 - 170 mph:-
And the next lap:-
By which time I had spotted the camerman....next lap, I thought, I'll go for the elbow down shot. All I need to do is JustGoFaster...of which I'm chuffed to say that I succeeded at :-
At least I had the decency to fall off in-front of the camera again.
Amazingly, very little damage to the bike - if you zoom in, you can see all it touched down on is the crash mushroom, footpeg and exhaust. Didn't even bend a brake lever or smash the top fairing / tank / side panels....etc...whcih is what I thought I was going to do as I slide into the gravel. Leathers are now fucked though. Nothing more to do now than empty the kitty littler fron the fairing (it gets fucking everywhere...) and try again at Portimao:-
Note gaffa tape holding leathers together - not that it would have done much in the event of a spill but it was more psychological not having a big hole letting the wind in...
